Last Christmas..I gave you my heart……

How quickly this time of the year rolls around. It always astounds me how a year just fly’s by in an instant. I do love Christmas, however the craziness in people that walk among us is another thing.  Christmas congers up memories of times gone by. The togetherness, the busy time and the giving nature of people. Christmas is also about hope, about giving thanks for the year we have had, for things to come. Hope for the future. Hope for love and being in love. Christmas is a time where we reflect on a lot of things. What we have lost and what we wanted that didn’t come to pass. Situations that could have been handled better, things we have walked away form that no longer serve us. New friendships, new opportunities that have come up, doors that have closed and those that have opened. A lot can happen in a year. Hearts that have opened, hearts that have been broken. Christmas ignites all sorts of emotions because of the nature of what it is all about and what it means to people. It can be a very emotional time. A stressful time also.

I always try to reflect on how far I have come. From last Christmas to this one. The good, the bad, the frustration and the celebrations. It is important to give thanks for all of it. The count down to the festivities is now on. Togetherness and celebrations are rife and it symbolizes unity and our love for one another. Friends, colleagues and family. It is a way we give thanks for eachother, the year that was and the spirit of Christmas. Of love and sharing. Life is so precious and it is always important to celebrate as much as we possibly can. Christmas can get people into thinking mode. About who they are and what their purpose is. What do they want for the new year? What does Christmas actually mean for them? What do they want to achieve? You may also feel like reaching out to someone from the past who you haven’t seen for a long time. You may start to wish strangers well and just smile more when you are walking or going about your day. There are many many things that stir in the pit of someones aura when this time of the year comes around. It can be so humbling and inspiring. It is offerings of love.  Giving is a virtue that is exercised more during the Christmas period. Those who are less fortunate are always given to in some capacity and it is a beautiful thing seeing the down trodden looked after and celebrated during the festive season. Life can be very difficult for so many in the community and Christmas just highlights that fact that we are all one and that we need to love and care for one another. So this Christmas as you reflect and go about your count down to this festive season reflect, give thanks, be bold and make a wish. Give good will , love and thoughtfulness to all those around you. Say thank you for all that has transpired this year. We cant change things. We can just improve, accept and move forward.  Be open to blessings, even in painful endings can come the brightest rainbows.
