09 Jul If The Shoe Fits….
It is always one of life’s guilty pleasures. Having a day to yourself and shopping. Maybe going to a spa and pampering yourself or even catching a movie and a nice dinner. Women have their go to things they want to do to enjoy and feel good. And why not. The latest among some of us is shoe swapping or buying what is no longer worn or wanted from one person that works well for another. Shoes and clothes that are in great condition but are just sitting there in someones closet. One woman’s trash is most definitely another’s treasure. As the saying goes, if the shoe fits wear it! Giving first pickings to your friends before you sell is a great way for you knowing that what you loved but no longer want is going to a good home and you still get to see it. A discounted first offering to your besties is a nice way to begin the ‘out with the old in with the new’ wheel in motion. Like so many things in life it is important to do a ‘stocktake’ of not only the things in your life but where you are at in your career, relationships, health, how your living and all the things you have. Shoes are made for walking. Some out date, some no longer serve you ( as with a lot of things in life), new styles, updated trends and making room for the new are all reasons why a cull is needed. So why not shop ‘vintage’ and see what shoe fits. Sometimes we just get tired of the same things and need a fresh look. A friend recently made available for first pickings her black patent YSL pumps. They were so stylish, classic and sassy. Any women would look great in them. Offering to your friends first for the taking is a great thought as you never know who would jump at the chance. If you have friends that are the same size then lucky you! A shoe swap is easy as pie. Sometime when you think of a clothes or shoe swap you may go back and think of your younger teenage years when you are constantly trading with your friends. I guess in some way we take that with us in our womanhood. If the shoe fits wear it most definitely!
It doesn’t always go for shoes and clothes but it goes for many things in life. Its about chances with our hearts, being our authentic self, being brave to face challenges, owning our mistakes and our achievements. Its being open to feelings and if something feels right then do it. Taking a leap of faith is one of life’s most important things we must learn to master. Sometimes the shoe doesn’t fit. Its ok. Not all of them do. You learn, you navigate through pain and you make choices. If it fits wear it. If not the there is always another way, another opportunity, another love and another way through the journey. Whatever it may be, there is always a shoe that fits.
