How is it that as soon as the weather changes we notice a subtle or sometime obvious change in ourselves. As soon as that first crisp amber coloured leave falls we know that its coming. The chill, the cold and that time of change. Autumn/ Winter is a time of year where we retreat, crave hot things, we like to stay under the covers, by the fire and also hibernate. It is a great time for going within  our inner self. Assessing, contemplating, making changes, relaxing and reflecting. Winter can change our mood and how we feel. Winter can be a time of you to slow done. The outdoors isn’t always our playground in the winter. We go inside. So why not use that time to go into your- self.  Slow down, make time and space for new things as well as yourself. When you are low on energy use this season to retreat. How wonderful a moment when you are cocooned by the fire with a cuppa or a glass of wine. How wonderful is it to invite friends over for a nice meal and have your own winter wonderland at home. There is a lot you can do in winter to get through the cold. For me winter is a time of self nurturing, self reflecting and having some good quality me time and friends time by the fire or at an intimate restaurant or bar. Changing of season is an important part of the process. For every season has it’s purpose and time. Like everything in life. We all have a favorite season. Some don’t like winter, some do. But when you understand that every season has a reason, their time and purpose then you will understand the beauty in season’s changing and what that could be also reflecting in our lives.  Hibernating in the winter months isn’t a bad thing. There is a time to rest and a time to play. Winter can be a nice time to use your energy for thy self. Writing a list of what you would like to do or have or achieve is a good start. It can also keep you occupied in the winter months as you work on these things. You may want to get healthy or start a new regime or project. The indoors can be a great way to start that. Use winter to your advantage. Enjoy the R & R and even begin new rituals for yourself. That way, when the season then comes to pass and the sun and the flowers bloom again, There will be a new you. Like a butterfly breaking from the cocoon.
